Versatility of cervicofacial flap in management of cutaneous cheek defects post tumour excision: a report of two cases

Reconstructing a large cutaneous cheek defect post tumour excision poses great challenge to the reconstructive surgeon. The surgical options are limited for functional and aesthetically acceptable outcome. microvascular free flap which is currently gold standard still not common place in our practice Nigeria. Cervicofacial flap, single stage procedure, offers an excellent alternative as it can be done patients who fit prolonged anesthesia even undertaken under local anesthesia.We presented two cases of with tumors had wide after histological diagnosis Basal Cell Carcinoma Basaloid Squamous Carcinoma. Both defects were closed cervicofacial general anesthesia. flaps survived no loss.Cheek reconstruction simple, reliable similar favourable aesthetic outcome when compared procedure.
